Ask
Our client requested a series of four case studies to showcase its bridge deck preservation technology. The case studies needed to highlight the industry drivers for efficient solutions and demonstrate how latex-modified concrete (LMC) technology is used to successfully extend the lifespan of bridge decks.
Solution
We began the case studies by interviewing representatives from three different Departments of Transportation in the United States. The interviews shed light on the common challenges involved in bridge maintenance and repair, particularly the high cost of repairing a failed bridge compared to regularly preserving one still in working condition.
From those conversations, we gained insight into the difficult decisions that need to be weighed internally by each department. The case studies underscored the tension between needing to keep infrastructure in an acceptable state of repair while balancing factors such as budget, timing, weather, and workforce availability.
Aside from being interesting stories in themselves, the case studies drove home the LMC system’s ability to improve the lifespan of bridge decks. The stories set up the stakes involved with each bridge, including its historical value, how much it gets used by travellers, the environmental conditions it needs to endure, and how often it has been repaired in the past.
The client’s LMC system entered each story organically as a solution that helped the representatives work more effectively. The case studies demonstrated the technology’s ease of use, its technical capabilities, and return on investment.
The case study series was posted to the Insights section of the client’s website, which is essentially a trove of articles about its technical solutions. They were also shared in an email campaign, where they reached an audience of specifiers and engineers.
