Developing a website for an evolving design system
To integrate Versapay’s website with its brand design system, we developed a framework that empowered its team to create and manage brand-compliant content.
Challenge
Versapay, a company that simplifies the invoice-to-cash payment process for B2B businesses, needed support improving how its website manages and updates content. More specifically, there was a disparity between the design system they had been developing and what was reflected on the website. Versapay needed something that empowered the team to make their own changes and seamlessly align the two.
Solution
The first step was understanding, in detail, how Versapay's website was built. We started with a thorough onboarding and audit of the CMS, hosting, and integrations to understand how best to solve the challenge and make the transition to Motum B2B as painless as possible.
Once that was complete, we started the process of upgrading the site to Craft 5, establishing a strong foundation for future improvements and building a library of “atomic components” or building blocks. These go beyond predefined components to more granular details like buttons, icons, text styles, and more, allowing Versapay to move away from a templatized, structured website and have full freedom without the fear of the brand’s identity ever compromising itself.
We wanted the team to feel empowered to build their own pages, create their own content, and feel fully informed at every step. To do that, we worked in sprints, releasing new features and building components in collaboration with Versapay’s team of growth marketers until the team had a complete builder they could work with.
Alongside that, we handled website maintenance such as routine CMS and plugin maintenance, hosting and performance management, support ticket enhancements, training, and incident responses.
